Project Description
The idea behind this case is to create the illusion that is is floating, and only suspended by the blocks between the case and the long stiles. It has a tubular chime movement and the whole thing is very heavy, case and movement. The word ‘widget’ is my term for all the connecting pieces that are fitted with button-earth magnets, allowing for the possible disassembly of the whole thing, as it is basically not moveable. The wood is Sappelli and Birdseye Maple. It has doors on both front and back to allow access to the movement.
