Project Description

This small desk is a throw-back to my childhood days with Lincoln Logs. The whole thing is a kind of Chinese puzzle. The top and bottom shelves are trapped and float in place-held by the tension created by half-lap corner mortises in the stiles. In this manner no glue is required.

The bottom rails go through the goofy feet and are captured by carefully placed dowels that become hidden once the pieces are slid into place.

Those skinny stiles at the side were a lot of fun and they also float and are trapped, using no glue.
