Project Description

For over 40 years my wife Alice worked at an old oak desk we bought at a warehouse sale for $35, and it was beat up back then. So I thought it time that she had something worthy of her.

The problem was that her office is upstairs, and to get there is a narrow stairwell with an angle landing after four steps. To solve this problem meant making the desk top in a way that it could be lifted off and then remounted upstairs.

All done-furniture wrapped. Up we go-stuck! The guy at the top super-strong holding it up with one arm and praying. After an hour or so we did get it up there.

It’s never been decided if those top pieces are artichokes or pineapples-just depends on whether you’re a vegetarian or a fruitarian.
